5 Meditation Ideas For People Who Can’t Sit Still

Feeling you are at the verge of a burn-out at work? Overstressed with your daily chores and
problems? Mediation could be the best solution for your problems. Taking the time to relax
completely and free your mind from all the negative thoughts and emotions will also help relieve
your body from the physical strain of having to live and function properly in our busy world.

Meditation is a perfect way to restore your inner balance and to reduce the stress, but some
people have difficulties spending time sitting or staying in one position to properly meditate. If
you are a hyper intensive person, or you have ADHD or ADD you probably know what I mean.
The good news is that there are ways to meditate and still keep your body moving at the same
time. Here are 5 meditation ideas for those of you just can’t seem to sit still…

tree meditation yoga1. Tai Chi
You probably have seen the people in the park who perform this very popular meditative
exercise originating from China. Tai Chi includes performing graceful, slow, nature inspired
movements which seamlessly flow into one another and are created to boost and enhance the
energy flow in the entire body. Since this form of exercise stresses on mindfulness and
breathing, it is perfect for meditating. With practice, you will find that you are able to better control your breathing and mind and will learn the deeper and subtle intricate details of the
movements.

Yoga is very closely associated with meditation, breathing exercises and control as well as self-
inquiry. Asana Yoga will help you prepare you to take the path toward deeper self-exploration
and self-realization. While you will learn to unite your mind with your body, Yoga will also help
you stretch and tone your body. Yoga retreat vacations promote healthy living and are becoming
very popular among people regardless of their age.

Try taking the time for doing your daily Yoga, and you will find a perfect way to combine body
exercise with meditation. Eventually, you will learn how to take your mind off everything else and
just focus on your breathing and on your body instead.

If you are too hyper intensive for Yoga or Tai Chi, then you should try learning and practicing
martial arts as a form of meditation. Even though these disciplines are created mainly for self-

defense and combat, they too are excellent methods to learn how to shut off your mind from the
outside world and focus solely on your body and your mind. All ancient Asian martial arts are
linked to meditation in some form or another. You can choose the one which you find the most
suitable for you from the wide range of different martial art disciplines available, such as: Aikido,
Karate, Taekwondo and many others.

Focus on your daily practice and try turning your entire attention inward towards your breathing
and your body movements.

BALI HOLY WATER RITUAL4. Running

It may sound strange, but it is very much possible to meditate while you are running. The famous
“runner’s high” feeling is proof of the higher level of consciousness which endurance runners
reach while running long distances. It is a reaction of the mind to the pain and effort which the
body undergoes during a marathon or ultramarathon. Daily running is an excellent form of
physical exercise which can very successfully be combined with meditation. It will take some
time to learn how to forward your attention toward your breathing, your pace and the movements

of your body, and “turn off” all other thoughts while you are on the track, but once you master it –
it is worth it! Just remember, nothing must bother you. If you have problems with your footwear
such as low arches, get a pair high-quality running shoes for low arches. It is crucial to remove
all possible obstacles and focus solely on your running.

If you are not a runner, you can try mindful walking instead. Walking meditation has becoming
growingly popular. It includes focusing your mind entirely on your breathing and on each step
you take while walking, instead of letting it wander off in various directions. This is possibly the
easiest way to meditate while staying active. You can do it at any time or place once you master
the skill of looking inwards towards your body and breathing and shutting out all distractions and
negative thoughts.
